DOGON DOOR (MALI) 185H 80W

Catalogued under Mali, this piece is a Dogon door — a carved wooden granary or house door in the tradition long associated with the Dogon people of the Bandiagara escarpment. This is a monumental example, measuring 185H 80W.

Traditionally mounted on granaries and family compounds, Dogon doors are carved in low relief along wooden planks bound with iron staples, historically doubling as both a functional door and a protective, symbolic marker for the household. Mounted as wall art, it brings genuine architectural history and bold linear texture into a room.

Pair this Dogon Door with a Bamileke stool or a decor shield for a layered African tribal art display.
