CALABASH ENGRAVED (KENYA) BOWL 20D

Calabashes, or dried gourds, have long served as natural containers across East Africa, and this example from Kenya is engraved with a decorative pattern cut directly into its shell. Cut into a wide, shallow bowl form, it shows off the engraving across its full surface.

At 20cm across, this Calabash Bowl works well as a decorative catch-all or displayed flat on a console or shelf, letting the engraved pattern be seen clearly from above. Its natural, unglazed texture pairs easily with other hand-formed African curio pieces.

Style it alongside a Turkana Honey Pot or a set of African bangles for a considered, texture-rich display.
