Catalogued under Ghana, this is a Bolga fan, hand-woven from elephant grass in the Bolgatanga region of northern Ghana, a craft long practised by local weavers and traditionally used for cooling and ceremonial fanning. This piece measures 50H 28W cm. This piece comes with its own display stand, ready to stand upright on a shelf or console.
Woven in a tight, radiating pattern with a leather-wrapped handle, it brings warm natural texture and genuine handcraft to a wall or shelf. Its bold, graphic shape makes it a striking addition to a gallery wall grouping.
Pair this Bolga Fan with a decor mask or a Tonga Basket Frame for a textured African curio wall display.
